A Guide to Disney World’s Disability Access Service (DAS)
UPDATED: 2/2/2025
At Walt Disney World, inclusivity is a core value. For families traveling with guests who have disabilities, the Disability Access Service (DAS) ensures everyone can immerse themselves in the magic of Disney.
Let’s explore how this thoughtful program works and how to make the most of your experience.
What is DAS?
Disney’s DAS program is a tailored service for guests with non-apparent disabilities, such as autism, that make waiting in traditional lines challenging. Instead of standing in queues, DAS allows guests to receive a return time equivalent to the current wait. Guests can then enjoy other activities while they wait for their turn to enter via the Lightning Lane.
Gone are the days of physical cards—DAS is now fully digital and integrated into the My Disney Experience app, making the process smoother and more efficient.
Who Qualifies?
Eligibility is determined during a video registration process, which assesses individual needs without requiring medical documentation. DAS is ideal for non-apparent disabilities but is not typically needed for wheelchair users, as most attractions accommodate mobility devices at the point of entry.
DAS can support up to four people, including the DAS holder, with exceptions for larger families.
How to Register for DAS
As of February 2025, pre-registration for DAS must be completed through a live video chat up to 60 days before your visit. Here’s how to prepare:
Have Tickets Ready: Ensure you’ve purchased valid park tickets and linked them to your My Disney Experience account.
Schedule Your Video Call: Video chat is available from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. The individual requesting DAS must be present and will have their photo taken during the call. Visit the Walt Disney World website to schedule a video call.
Plan for Flexibility: If you need to modify your party, you can update your DAS registration via another video call or by visiting Guest Relations in the park.
Using DAS at Disney World
Once registered, using DAS is simple:
Access DAS through the My Disney Experience app after tapping into the park.
Select a return time for any attraction with a standby line.
Once your return time begins, enjoy the ride and plan your next attraction.
Guests can only hold one return time at a time but can enjoy unlimited selections throughout the day. DAS works seamlessly with other planning tools like Lightning Lane, though a DAS return time is separate from Genie+ selections.
Helpful Features for Guests
Not tech-savvy? No problem! Guest Experience Teams are stationed throughout the parks under recognizable blue umbrellas. They can assist with DAS return times, answer questions, and provide directions.
Additionally, every Disney park has a Guest Relations location where cast members are ready to help.
The Magic of Accessibility
Disney World’s DAS program embodies its commitment to creating unforgettable experiences for everyone. By addressing individual needs and incorporating guest feedback, DAS ensures no one misses out on the magic.
Whether it’s your first visit or your hundredth, DAS makes navigating the parks more inclusive and stress-free. So, plan ahead, embrace the magic, and enjoy every moment of your Disney adventure!
